This was a very fun and exciting week for our students! We have been learning all about bugs this week. Our students have talked about different types of bugs and which ones are safe to be around and which ones to stay away from. We have sorted bugs by color and where they live, counted with them, and we even made our own bugs. The highlight of the week was our trip to the Bamboo Gardens to pick strawberries. The students had a wonderful time walking around the gardens learning about all the different types of bamboo and other various plants. However, most of all they loved picking their own strawberries. A big Thank You to all the parent volunteers, it certainly made a difference having you there.

This week our class has had a great time learning about eggs and experimenting with them. On Monday, the students each got to dye a egg and then they peeled it and ate it. We are experimenting with an uncooked egg in vinegar and will chart the the results on Friday. Today the students went on an egg hunt and then we had a snack later in then classroom. Thank you to everyone who sent in eggs, the kids really loved finding them. Please do not forget to turn in the permission slip for the Strawberry Farm field trip. I hope that everyone has a great time during the Spring Break, April 2-6, 2012!

This week our class talked bout dental health. We learned how many times a day to brush our teeth and how to brush our teeth. We talked about other ways that we can take care of our teeth, such as eating healthy, flossing, and using mouth wash. Also, we talked about going to dentist and how important it is to visit the dentist. Next week we will talk about St. Patrick's Day. We will have shamrock shakes and listen to a bagpipe player. Please remember that there will be no school on March 15th and 16th.
